Mark Labow

Montreal, April 27th, 2018

Mark LABOW, a ski patroller for 70 years, has died this week in Ste Agathe, Quebec.

Mark became interested in ski patrolling international relations in 1977 and founded FIPS in 1979 with like minded people from around the planet.

The glue of similar interests and experiences bound together for the improvement of safety and rescue on ski hills everywhere still binds us together as we gathered in twenty one Congresses so far.

Below please find the published obituary notice with Mark’s wishes for support to continue his focus of on-going training at Canadian Ski Patrol which he continued to do until fall of 2017.

Also below the thoughts from the young patrol leader at Morin Heights Ski Area where Mark patrolled for many years.

We owe gratitude to Mark for the gift of his devotion and friendship. He leaves behind many ski patrol friends not only in Canada but from many countries.
