Kate -thank you!- pointed us to the page of FIS Web site dedicated to World Snow Day (WSD).

The aim of this initiative is “to promote snow activities as a healthy leisure recreation, notably for the young” as a meaning to bring back more skiers to the mountains an try to revert  the results of recent researches that show “that the number of people participating in snow related activities has dropped over the past years“.

It not just a meaning of figures but also about education and information on relevant topics such:

  • The Environment
  • Health Benefits
  • Safety

FISPS –Italian FIPS’ member– joined WSD 2012 edition with positive feed-back form Monte Amiata ski resort community and is planning to spread the event on more places.

So let’s join the three E’s WSD motto: Explore-Enjoy-Experience.
