The following information has been provided by our Italian colleagues, at FISPS.

Currently the Organizing Committee has not planned to involve ski patrollers from abroad.

However, if any foreign ski patroller wish to participate, they must temporarily register as FISPS members so that we can submit their names to the Organizing Committee.

Our rescuers (FISPS + any foreign members) will be part of a rescue team composed of one doctor, two ski patrollers, and a mountain rescue technician. Several teams will be deployed to cover the entire event area. Our ski patrollers will operate exclusively on the ski or snowboard slopes at the Bormio and Livigno venues.

Availability is required for shifts of at least 5/7 consecutive days, starting from January 15, 2026, until February 25, 2026.

However, the following minimum requirements must be met:

  1. Knowledge of the Italian language;
  2. already qualified as a ski patroller;
  3. health training equivalent to the standards required by AREU (minimum course duration 120 hours; I’ll send you the training program).

It is possible that medical personnel (doctors and paramedics) may be employed, but only on a volunteer, non-paid basis.

It is important that FIPS ski patrollers who wish to participate – and who meet the necessary requirements – send their availability as soon as possible including: full name, date of birth, country of origin, and certificates of medical / ski patroller training.

Applications may be sent to Nicola Bernacca    bernacca.nicola@gmail.com

    NOTE:
    FIPS has recently received an information update from FISPS. It has been determined that no foreign patrollers will participate in Olympic event patrolling in 2026. Approximately 40 patrollers from FISPS AKJA will provide patrol services at Bormio and Livigno venues.

    FISPS will provide a report on the Olympic patrolling experience at the 2026 World Congress to be held in Canada at Big White Ski Resort.
